Cloning engine and gearbox control units

We copy the data of an engine (ECU) or gearbox (TCU) control unit 1:1 onto a replacement unit — memory, adaptations and vehicle identification included. No recoding, no dealer visit, no lost data.

01

What 1:1 cloning means

We read EEPROM, flash and internal data of the original unit and write them onto an identical unit.

The cloned unit behaves like the original: same VIN, same key, same learned values.

The car starts without immobiliser sync or a dealer appointment.

02

Engine control unit (ECU)

We clone ECUs with hardware faults, water corrosion or overvoltage damage.

Immobiliser data, injector corrections and learned values are preserved.

Depending on the platform we work on the bench or via OBD with professional equipment.

03

Gearbox control unit (TCU)

In automatic gearboxes the TCU stores clutch and pressure adaptations that cannot be invented.

Cloning keeps those values and avoids harsh shifts or relearning from zero.

The right route when the electronics fail but the gearbox itself is healthy.

04

Process and documentation

Diagnosis first, then a full read and backup before anything is written.

Verification on the car or on the bench, fault memory check and function test.

Documented handover — if anything is unclear we call before continuing.

05

Repair instead of replacement

When the board is recoverable we repair the original unit instead of cloning it.

Repair and cloning are alternatives to a new part — usually faster and cheaper.

We decide with the diagnosis in hand, not from a catalogue.

B2B · Partner workshops

Cloning and repair for workshops

Workshops send in the control unit or book an on-site appointment. Invoicing runs between us and the workshop; the end customer stays the workshop's customer.

Send in ECUs and TCUs for repair or 1:1 cloning

Clear lead times and prices, neutral return packaging

On-site work in your workshop by appointment when the car is needed

No power increase on units sent in — calibration happens on the vehicle only

How optimisation works on engine and gearbox

Air enters, the turbo compresses it, the intercooler cools it, injection meters the fuel and the control unit governs everything through the sensors. The TCU adapts clutch pressure and shift points. Every step is measured before and after.

1 · Condition and read-out

Full diagnostics, fault memory, stock data logging and a 1:1 backup before anything is written.

2 · Air and boost pressure

We check turbo, wastegate, leaks and intake air temperature. Without healthy air there is no healthy power.

3 · Fuel and injection

Quantity, timing and rail pressure are adjusted with safety margin for lambda and exhaust gas temperature.

4 · Automatic gearbox (TCU)

Clutch pressure, torque limits and shift points are adapted so the gearbox carries the new torque.

5 · Measurement and verification

Live logging with GPS and dyno runs: power, torque, lambda, pressure and temperatures before and after.

6 · Documentation

You receive the measured values and we archive the original file so the stock state can be restored.

Power optimisation is always carried out directly on the vehicle. On control units sent in we only perform repair or 1:1 cloning.

Power increase on engine and gearbox

The animation shows why a power increase is only done on the vehicle: measurement, live logging, coordinated ECU and TCU calibration and final verification.
